Here is a photo of the NATCHEZ on her christening day 32 years ago today, with her proud captain, Clarke C. Hawley, posing on the wharf. I note the river was extremely high as you can even see the main deck and guards. It must have been close to the 17ft. flood level, probably about 16 or so. The second photo is on her first day of excursions, April 13th. Both were taken by Bert Fenn of Tell City Indiana. Its hard to believe she's 32 already, and that I have been associated with her for 23 of those years!554.jpg555.jpg

Wow Judy! What wonderful photos. You never cease to amaze me with your memory and memoralibila. I sure do appreciate it. I was only working for the New Orleans Steamboat Co. for 13 years from 1981- 1994 but of course still keep in touch with my friends as from afar. Those were the good ole' days! Thanks again. I sure do appreciate you.

Judy, what a great memory. The Natchez still looks about the same, after 32 years. Here's hoping for at least another 32 more.
