The HARRIET BISHOP just traded whistle salutes with the GRAND VICTORIA II a few minutes ago. Nice combination of sounds-- 1870's three-chime Crosby and what seemed like a fine set of Kahlenberg Brother's air horns. The trees on the hills above the river valley trembled for a few moments after that and we saw what looked like yellow leaves falling, over on the Indian side.

All boats are now on the Ohio River. I may be wrong, but now that the Mississippi Queen has entered the lock system I think that includes them all!

Looking forward to Tall Stacks! Can't Wait! 🙂

That is so true- If Helen had a tip jar, you might pay for the trip.

I was telling my neighbor about Helen's hot fingers on the keyboard. We were discussing the invention of television because we had done some research online about the first football game broadcast and my father was involved with the broadcast. He has no interest in football. Then the discussion got sidetracked into how people entertained themselves before all the hi-tech equipment and it was musical instruments. I said the best piano player I know was 94 year old (I think it is 94) Helen Prater.

Cheers to the whole gang at tall stacks- hope it is fantastic!!!

Jealousy and greed have set in... even though I'm going to be on the NATCHEZ and around the BELLE for 8 days, I'd love to be on them right now too! Its a beautiful summer day here - I may have to leave the a/c on for the cats this week - Do you know if Michael Blaser got picked up anywhere? He had planned to board the NATCHEZ in Louisville, back when they were planning to make a stop there.
