Here is a video made by GASC when the MISSISSIPPI QUEEN's bell was removed from the AMERICAN QUEEN during their Louisville stop in May. The great background music is the original Preservation Hall Band composed of: Willie and Percy Humphrey, Narvin Kimball, Allen Jaffe. Percy and Willie often sat in with the Riverboat Ramblers on the DQ during the NOLA playoffs.

I missed it! I was giving my River Chat when they did this. I found out as the tow was landing at JeffBoat!
Oh well, someone has to keep the stories alive, even if they have to miss them!
MQ Bell Clang!
Thanks! We now have a sound byte of the bell on the museum website at Howard Steamboat Museum Jeffersonville, IN.
Unfortunately I can´t watch it because of the music 🙁 (it´s blocked for Germany).

Fear of Heights
While watching the MQ bell being hoisted high into the air it struck me that a good bell cannot have a fear of hieghts since that is where bells spend most of their lives.
