Here's hoping that maybe Capt. John Vize, Jr., or somebody out there on the big river can convey the whereabouts of the LST 325. I'm on deck at the Howard Steamboat Museum today, running the "big house" while our indefatigable administrator, Yvonne Knight, is heading to Marietta for the S&D meeting and a much deserved vacation. Some of our visitors this morning inquired as to the location of the LST and, although we know she was upbound here on Sunday morning a couple of weeks or so ago, we aren't aware of the exact location of the vessel at the moment. We have a room on the third floor of the mansion devoted to LST models and memorabilia. Although the Howard's did not build those vessels during their 107 year ownership of the yards, LST's and other military craft were built there after the Navy bought the shipyard in 1941.
We always enjoy the wide variety of visitors to our museum, those today including people from Oklahoma, Mississippi, Tennessee, India, and a very nice group of home schooled children. Also among our esteemed visitors this week was Capt. Joy Manthey, en route to Marietta for the S&D meeting. It's a special pleasure when "river folk" visit us, so please make yourselves known to the museum crew when you come to call! You're welcome anytime, but also check our online calendar for special events, on the museum website by clicking Howard Steamboat Museum - Home Page
Thanks and keep up steam!
"Curator Keith"
Hey Keith,
She's shown downbound in Cannelton pool as of today according to the lock queues.
I missed her passing Cincy and I haven't heard if Steve saw her go south or not.
Aaron
Looks like you missed her Keith, she was sb just below Rock Haven at about 1230. She's made good time since departing Marietta on Wednesday morning.
Those wanting to track the rest of her progress on into Evansville can check this link:

BTW, when I was on her in Marietta on Monday, a crew member mentioned that she is tentatively slated to make a late summer trip up the Illinois River next year.
Thanks guys! With all of the BIG structures at Jeffboat now, we no longer have much of a river view from the museum, so we probably wouldn't have seen her anyway! Appreciate the information!
