Just got a call from Capt. Steve Nicoulin (4PM Tuesday). The NATCHEZ was passing the mouth of the Green River, mile 784. She left Cincy at noon Monday, so she's covered 314 miles in 28 hours, an average speed of 11.5 - and she refueled in Louisville too! They're hoping for the Mississippi by noon tomorrow. Dan Back took a pix of her passing his house yesterday afternoon, and I note noone on deck. Presumably they were sleeping and/or watching videos in the dining room and getting a well-deserved break. Steve said they almost caught the BELLE, which had a 2 hour or so jump on them. So if there's anyone else down by the riverside planning to snap one last photo of her on the Ohio, use fast film/shutter speed!
