Taken at Marietta on Sept. 18, 1965: J. Mack Gamble, Jesse P. Hughes, Fred Way... saw it when looking for the CRICKET photo and thought it was of interest.

Now there's a picture of three of the best, fastest friends, over many, many decades, you'll ever want to meet. Grandpa would have been close to 90 when this was taken. At that time, when I never could come to S&D meetings because I was home in Denver with two small children, Grandpa would spend summers with me while my parents took their Airstream up into the mountains so Dad could fish for trout. During that time, I would read to Grandpa the Waterways Journal, the Reflector and his voluminous correspondence. There was constant correspondence between these three gentlemen, full of wonderful reminiscences and river tales.
I've never seen this picture. Thanks, Judy.
