The AMERICAN QUEEN was all stop in Davenport at 1:40 AM. A familiar name returns as the after watch pilot, Capt. John Dugger. The AQ is scheduled to leave at 2:30 for Burlington... LST325 was scheduled to arrive in Moline today, but is held up in Burlington due to low water. Her anticipated QC arrival is now Saturday.

Mark Decker is our Burlington person on this board. Hopefully he'll have some info, but I believe she usually leaves at noon or 1 since they get in during the middle of the night. Assuming she gets to go through the 'closed' part of the river above 18, she will be docking at the levee along with the LST by 2 AM I'd think. The LST captain had put in a phone call to the AQ this morning to discuss docking arrangements, but Capt. DeLuca was certain there would be enough room for both. Capt. Schultz docked the DQ against the 325 once in Evansville I believe, so there is plenty of experience in the pilothouse with him and Capt. Dugger...
The steamboats almost always leave Burlington at 1PM sharp. The LST-325 made an unscheduled stop in Burlington Wednesday because of "river congestion." The very elderly crewmen told me at 5PM that they were leaving tonight to make way for the American Queen. "They're kicking us out." Considering that the riverfront park area is over a mile long, I am not really sure why this is necessary. They all want to dock right at the Port of Burlington building.

The American Queen spent the night in Pool 18. I watched her emerge from a blinding rainstorm at 9AM and dock at Burlington. The rain then stopped. She will leave at 4PM for Hannibal.
