Anyone who will be on the AQ Aug. 30?
My husband and I will be celebrating our 40th anniversary on the 30th. What better way to celebrate than on the Grand American Queen. This will be my 11th trip and my husbands 3rd. I usually travel with my partners in crime"The Texas Happy Ladies." I would love to meet anyone who frequents this board if you will be on the boat. I usually don't post. I am mainly a lurker.

I also lurk much more than I post, but I will be on that AQ trip. I will look forward to meeting you. And someday I'd like to meet all those Texas Happy Ladies, too! Can't help but be happy on the river!

Leonie is bringing her parents, Franz and Carmen. They warmed up by riding the TWILIGHT this week and are enroute to follow the DQ along the Ohio before boarding the AQ in St. Louis on the 30th.

I will also be on the August 30th trip with my parents and aunt. We tend to hang out in the Engine Room bar at night and on the Sun Deck during the day. My aunt and I are in Room 523. Looking forward to meeting all the fellow lurkers. And of course, Leonie, Carmen and Franz.
The change to Red Wing made for some last minute changes, which may be fun. We are taking the train from Red Wing back to Wisconsin. I take Amtrak a lot, and it usually is an adventure. The real show will be seeing my parents and I getting on the train with all of our luggage. We hate to leave anything at home.
Counting the days, or should I say hours.

We will be spending our evenings at the Captain's bar. A little more laid back. We are taking a much needed vacation. Our days will be spent on the front porch watchin the world go by. After my dad passed away I took my mother on a river cruise. She totally loved it. She got to go on four before her health got bad. Enjoy your parents while you can. Look forward to meeting you.

Sally, Deb and I are sorry we aren't on this cruise. After our conversations, we really should make an effort to meet you some day. After Majestic, in the loving way that only they can, cancelled our December AQ cruise, this was the one we wanted to substitute. But kinda hard to jump off one and 4 days later jump on another, though we thought about it and one DQ couple, our heros, are doing exactly that!
You gotta know what I'm gonna ask you to do for us, right? You give that Piano Man a big hug and tell him the New Yorkers miss him a whole bunch. You tell him that at the DQ singalong last week, the song "North to Alaska" was a little hard to get the words right, and Deb and I couldn't stop giggling...
