All,
My Wife, Daughter, and I attended the Augsuta Riverfest Regatta this past weekend and I thought I'd share a few photos from the event. While the event organizers have struggled in years past to keep the sternwheelers coming because of distance, scheduling conflicts, etc. they had a nice turn out of boats this year. While this regatta certainly can't compete with the big ones at Marietta, Charleston, and Wheeling it does provide a nice setting for a smaller regatta. We hope to return in a couple years as a participant, not just spectators as all types of boats are welcomed. Let's hope Augusta can keep this going.
Boats in attendance this year were:
PORT EXPLORER
DON ROB'T
DRESDEN BELLE
RUFUS B II
JUANITA

A few more photos
Also should mention that Augusta spent considerable money to upgrade their mooring facilities to host events like this. Only complaint from one of the Captains was that the riverwalk as they call it doesn't have a straight section it's entire length which makes landing a little interesting.
Enjoy!
