Greetings From Baton Rouge !
Today , it was reported in the local Baton Rouge , newspaper The Advocate that the levee system that protects the city of Baton Rouge has literally sprung a leak !
The report went on the say that there is now what many consider excessive seepage in a number of locations in the levee system and to the extent that the adjacent river road has been closed to all manner of traffic !
From my experience with witnessing many high water events , it is NOT too unusual for the levees to seep river water to a certain extent ! However , with this years record Spring Flood and more importantly the time frame that this flooded river will remain high , I am not too surprised to hear such reports as this !
The big concern over these reported river leaks is simply will there be enough resources to be address and reinforce these levee leaks !
So far there have been no other reported serious leaks in the levee system between New Orleans and Baton Rouge !
More latter !
Smooth Sailing !
