I'd like to be the first to wish Shipyard Sam a Happy Birthday--his day is tomorrow, the 11th. Don't know if he'll even get the message-there was a rumor the whole Rabbit Hash Shipyard was shutting down, and the crew heading off for a fishing trip down on the Tennessee!! But at least the wishes are there--Steamboat Mary

A long and two short toots of the whistle to Shipyard Sam -- in honor of his natal day --wherever he might be!

Hi, Shipyard:
Congratulations on your big B-Day and many, many more! Gads, how the years have flown. Good times for sure and great memories going way, way back. I heard a dull roar and saw flashing lights while working in the yard today. It was from the direction of the 'Rabbit Hash Shipyard & Boiler Works.' I hate to think what is going on now. Don't you and the guys mix up the chemicals from the photo lab with that great Kaintuck bourbon. Ole 'Commodore' Fred Laidley down at the L&C LINE office also sends his regards.

Cheers,
R. Dale Flick

Hey, Don,
Have a good birthday with gooey cake icing, ice cream and a shot of Old Shoeshine to top it off.

Mary: The shipyard is closed today in honor of Shipyard Sam. It is also Sam Shipman's birthday...double header! We can't close for two daze today, so we'll do it tomorrow too...ice cream will mebbe melt in to the goo on the cake, but then there might even be some government red whisky in the offing. We'll see! Cap'n Walnut.

RH Shipyard Lockout.

Thanks everyone for your kind sentiments. I would have responded sooner, but the crew down at the yard had me locked out and all the hootin' and hollerin' was actually in celebration of Steamboat Mary Charlton's birthday the day before. Why, they forgot all about me.

Only after the neighbors across the river in Indiana started discharging their peacemakers did the Rabbit Hash SWAT Team respond, and after some semblance of order restored was I allowed access to the front office and my computer.

Happy BD Steamboat Mary, thanks for the posting, and thanks everyone, again, for your kind words.

Yes, I will be going down on the Tennessee River, but without that rowdy crowd. They've got alot of cleaning up to do before the boss returns.

Mary's 29TH was yesterday? Damn, we missed it... Definitely will be marking all these birthdays down in the Upstate New York "Gawd we love taxes Fun and Frivolity" Calender.

Happy Birthday to all three of you... one who is a true dear friend to both of us and two other that we hope we're lucky enough so we can get to know and become true friends with someday.

Sodus, New York is hoisting high a Sam Adams and a Berringers to the south sky tonight. Actually a few, but I'm not asking anybody to count...

Happy Birthday all,
Deb and B.
