Well here is almost post time. Boat trip is paid, airline tickets now secured. Now for the big decisions what to wear. What is the wheather like in early April. From a mans point a view is easy pants and shirts maybe a jacket or sweater. For a woman it becomes a major problem any one who might be able to shed some light on this we would appreciate the help. Bob,

I can help you more if I know which boat and cruise you are taking. I suspect your cruise is an American Queen or Delta Queen cruise out of either New Orleans or Memphis?

If the above is true, Deb and I can give you a little guidance:

New Orleans will be typically in the high 70's low 80's, Memphis on the other hand will be in the high 50's to low 60's during early April. Usually when Deb and I cruise in mid March the temperatures in the afternoon out of New Orleans up to at least Natchez allow for a nice tan. However, mornings will be coolish.

I wear short sleeve golf style shirts and jean shorts in the late morning with a fleece long sleeve pullover that I shed and carry as the day warms. First thing in the morning I wear full jeans and a fleece long sleeve pullover until after breakfast.

Hope this helps. Is this your first cruise? You're gonna have a ball...Click on my Name and Private message me if you or Terry have any more questions or concerns.

Bruno covered it- just remember that steamboating is less formal than some other blue water cruises although yes, people dress Sunday church style for dinners. Also, there is sometimes soot so white attire will show the dirt. Any trip involving water can feel cooler rather than warmer. As for the female aspect-I can honestly say that it is not really the country club snobs and no one notices or comments if you are wearing the same things more than once.

Have a great time! Pack light- there is no room to store anything anyway. Have fun! Wear comfortable shoes.

Cheers
