Now that things have slowed up a bit, it just dawned on me that I haven't received my December Reflector. Has everyone else gotten theirs, that maybe mine was just lost in the USPS????

None here yet, but they have definitely gone out from Richardson's.

To all our faithful Reflector readers:

Copies of the December issue were finished by Richardson Printing and forwarded to USPS for delivery around December 6 (which is the usual schedule we have followed in years past). They are no doubt waiting to be delivered after all First Class letters and parcels have been processed during the holiday rush. From the sounds of things, even sending them via UPS or FedEx may not have guaranteed timely delivery this year!

Thank you to all for your kind patience and understanding. Hopefully, your long wait will prove to be worth it when the issue finally arrives. My best wishes for good reading and a wonderful New Year!

David

The mail packet arrived here on Christmas Eve with the much anticipated REFLECTOR. Trust me it will be well worth the wait. Just the cover of the December issue makes the $30.00 membership dues a huge bargain. By the way, the bill for membership is enclosed in the envelope, so don't overlook it and accidently throw it away.

Surely you jest, dear Editor!

No! The USPS could not have possibly held the Reflectors that long! Why, there isn't a government institution which is run more efficiently and timely than the beloved postal service! Gotta go, the men in the white coats just summoned me....

*No REFLECTOR in the L&C LINE offices yet*
Hi, Bill and Steamboating colleagues:
No sign of the December REFLECTOR here yet at the L&C LINE wharfboat. Commodore Fred Laidley stomped up the office steps after fussing with the boys over on the CITY OF LOUISVILLE. He stood over my desk gingling all those gold watch fobs rocking on his heels like he smelled something. "Ah, Dale, has the 'FLECTA come in yet? You and Ellis Mace DID give little Mrs. Laidley and me a subscription, didn't you?" "Of course Commodore--every year same as usual," I said looking up from my ledger books with Capt. Ellis Mace rolling his eyes. "Did you check when the QUEEN CITY came in this 'mornin? Could be over there now in their office with the other big bundle," Laidley asked. "Sir, I did check but their Mud Clerk took the bundles up to the big post office in town for local maling before I could head him off, cut open the bundles."

"DRATS! Ummm, could you double check?" the big boss glowered. "I did. And if it's as good as what I hear from Capt. Bill Judd, it should be for the cost of printing, mailing I did this morning to the printers up in Marietta. No doubts lots of dandy color pictures and such. You know how David Tschiggfrie works his fingers to the bone," I answered not blinking my eyes. "Easy...easy," Capt. Mace whispered when Laidley looked out the office window to all the freight going over on the CITY OF LOUISVILLE.

Due to good weather, most roads are passable, so I got mine last week. Always enjoy seeing the pictures from the meeting. I will have plenty of time to read it as I am recovering from knee replacement surgery. Great job Dave!

Hey Lex,
Just read about your knee replacement. When did you have it? My wife Sharon had her right (starboard) knee replaced on Oct.22 '13. She's doing fine, can now drive again, but its a long recovery period. The surgeon told us that in a years time she will be about fully recovered. Meanwhile she has good days and bad days. Keep doing the exercises!

I got mine yesterday (got the mail from my son from while I was gone). It is wonderful! What a great issue! Of course, I had to read it cover to cover at one seating (cause I have no restraint when it comes to reading steamboat things). A credit to the genius of our esteemed Editor Tschiggfrie!
