Was very surprised today when I was in the Belle of Louisville's gift shop and saw the Delta Queen's new look!
She's really looking like a real Mississippi Sternwheeler Steamboat now!

Our daughter gave us this sign for Christmas. I immediately spoiled her thoughtfulness by blurting "That's not the Delta Queen". I salvaged the moment and it hangs proudly on a tree near the path that leads to our creek.

NATCHEZ incognito
Usually when they use the image of the NATCHEZ, they brush out the name and leave it blank. I have seen MISSISSIPPI on it for a postcard of the state of Mississippi, but this is the first DELTA QUEEN imposed on the NATCHEZ I've seen. Back in the day, when whichever company owned the DQ, they were ridiculous about the name Delta Queen even appearing in an article or description of a picture, to the point that some postcard publishers avoided the DQ completely. Funny how the tide has turned... gee, I hope the deckhand on the BELLE doesn't sue his current employer for false advertising!!!!!!

That's what I could never figure out about the DQ Co.'s absolute prohibition of using the DQ image or name - get the name out there, and if its free, so much the better.
