This is Hoyle Osborne writing. I played piano in the MQ's Paddlewheel Lounge along with Paul Penta in 2007, and I served as Interlocutor on the DQ alongside Bob Schad in 1994.
I appear as an old-time western saloon piano player (typecasting, you see) in the movie "Cowboys & Aliens", which opens on July 29.
Jane Voss and I continue presenting our "Singing America's History" programs. We debut a new program, "Got a Mind to Ramble," next month in association with "Journey Stories," a touring exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution. I'm sure there will be a steamboat song in the show.
Lots more information is posted at Jane Voss & Hoyle Osborne Website
You can see my name on the cast list for "Cowboys & Aliens" (almost the last name on the list) at Cowboys & Aliens (2011) - Full cast and crew

Way to go, Hoyle! I knew you'd make the Hollywood big time. Congratulations on your cinematic debut. I hope they nominate you for an Oscar in the Best Ragtime Pianist category. Looking forward to seeing Cowboys and Aliens!

Having been Hoyle's partner on the MQ, I've known about this since before he actually got the gig. I am so very proud of him and look forward to seeing the movie.
