It was "all lines fast" at 10:45 PM last nite in Dubuque. The following photo sets will document her downbound landings in McGregor and Dubuque on Saturday and Sunday.

First up are three from McGregor. They used the same landing as they did in the Grand Excursion in 2004. If memory serves, this marks the third time the DQ has landed there in her UMR career.903.jpg904.jpg905.jpg

The second shot here is from Pike's Peak State Park, opposite the mouth of the Wisconsin River. In the background are the Iowa towns of McGregor and Marquette with the Marquette-Joliet Bridge spanning the main channel.

The third photo was taken around 10:30 on Saturday night, while the deck crew did a significant amount of noodling before deciding where to land the boat.906.jpg907.jpg908.jpg

These three photos document the boat's arrival. She seemed somewhat shy at landing in Dubuque, but eventually settled in. Unfortunately, the passengers in the second shot, backlit from the searchlights, grew weary of the ordeal and retired to the cabin.909.jpg910.jpg911.jpg

The last three pictures show the departure from Dubuque at 1:30 this afternoon. We hope this isn't the last time we'll see the boat on the Upper Mississippi.914.jpg915.jpg916.jpg

Thanks for posting these Jon, a sinus infection, work & Church duties this past weekend prevented my visiting either day, and it's just as well I suppose, so close and yet so far!
I would have liked to see the DQ for one last time on the UMR...I had no desire to get on board (not that I'd be welcome anyways!!! ;+> ) just wanted to drive by...

I've been to that "vantage point" @ Pikes Peak Park...it's wonderful seeing the vast Wisconsin River flowing in the Mississippi!
