Thunderstorms are rumbling through the area this morning, but maybe that will keep the temps down this afternoon for the 6th River Ramblings presentation, this one by Capt. Carl Henry. If you're in the area, please come over to the Howard Museum Carriage House for the 3 PM talk. The cookies are ready, and Keith and I will resume setting up the River Rummage Sale this morning - all proceeds go to the Howard Museum - and there's a lot of stuff. Books, magazines, over 50 t shirts and sweatshirts from various boats and river towns, souvenirs, household decorations, you name it we've got it! Hope to see a big crowd today. If you are planning to come by my place for the evening session, let's say 7:30 or later so we have time to eat at Kingfish on a busy Saturday evening. I'm in the building opposite the office, and someone will be at the outside door to let you in. Looking forward to a great day!
Hopefully the weather will cooperate for our boat ride tomorrow morning. Plans are still the same.....load at Duffy's Landing (located about 1 1/2 miles up Market St. /Utica Pike from the museum) at 9:30, depart at 10. We will return no later than noon so people who want to ride the BELLE can make the 2:00 cruise.
Post dinner gathering
It appears we will be at the Howard later than usual due to the rummage sale, so let's say no earlier than 8 PM at my place, should you not be with us at Kingfish. We'll adjourn from Kingfish as soon as we're done eating, but since we'll be there at the height of the dinner hour, it could take a while. 8 PM or later..... thanks.
