Happy Birthday, today, to Jimmy Reising, former purser on the DQ, steamboat buff of the highest order and our "photo magician" at the Howard Steamboat Museum! Be sure to see the WONDERFUL exhibition of river images (from the collections of the University of Louisville Photo Achives) that Jimmy has arranged in the museum carriage house -- on display through October.

A long and two shorts of the whistle to ya, Jimmy! We'll get Travis to serenade you with HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the cally-ope this weekend!

RE: J. Reising's B-Day.

Hi, Jim:
Birthdays coming left and right! I've a pretty good idea how many years you've chalked up but won't broadcast it here. Has it been that L-O-N-G ago since you were Purser on the DQ? Remember the time Mickey Frye, you, your family and I went swimming in Louisville from the boat [Not in the river, mind you] so many years ago? Additional gun salutes across your bow for the fine work you do with the Howard Museum etc. You were around long ago when Loretta Howard was still in residence at the mansion. Cheers!

Jimmy: Oh, my! Dale makes it sound like you were pursor on the TITANIC before that! When we get the shipyard open here at Rabbit Hash, we will close it in your honor...even though you seem to discriminate against the fine denizens of this metropolis. Good luck this weekend with your display. Seems we forgot Dave T's BD; You'll be the first after we get the yard open from David's celebration. Cap'n Walnut

Happy Birthday Jim...and thank you for all you do over at the museum. If you haven't been over to see the Ferryboats of Louisville display, or the steamboat history pictorial in the Carriage House at the Howard Museum...you are missing out. Jim really deserves applause for these great exhibits and all the other work he does behind the scenes over at the little museum that can!
