A long and two shorts of the whistle -- followed by a jaunty rendition of HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the cally-ope -- to the one and only "Miss Helen" Hughes Prater, who today celebrates her 97th. Helen is the true "Energizer Bunny" and it's been my great pleasure and privilege, since I was a teenager, to be counted amongst her multitude of friends. Here's to a grand lady of the river!
