Thank you, Carmen, Franz and Leonie. And Happy Birthday to my fellow steamboaters Pat and Jo Ann, who I will get to see and celebrate with in St. Louis on July 4th! Pat and I have celebrated together on several occasions during the Great Steamboat Race, along with Mate Dave Hardesty and Chief Engineer Tad Kornecki, who also share this birthday. One year we were all there together on the Delta Queen, so it was a regular mob scene with all the cake and balloons. Did you know today is also the birthday of the late Nelson Eddy, who I'm sure would've jumped at the chance to sing love songs to Jeanette MacDonald on a steamboat.

Happy Birthday to Pat, Jo Ann, and Jazzou! Wow, all this river illuminati having simultaneous birthdays...someone above wanted us all to have a great group of people to share the river with..and today was the day!

Thanks all for the fine birthday wishes. Yep, we're planning on really celebrating next week when we converge on St. Louis to welcome the DELTA QUEEN in town on July 4th. Let me extend my birthday wishes to Pat and Jazzou and to Dave and Tad wherever you are.
