Greetings From New Orleans ,
Just a few High Water Pictures ! One thing to see these shots but quite another to work in these high water conditions ! This Spring Flood will certainly be one for the record book ! It has recently been estimated that the velocity of the current brought on my this High Water has ranged from five to seven knots !
Smooth Sailing !

Just A Few More High Water Pictures !
Greetings From New Orleans ,
Just a few more High Water pictures ! These are primarily of the Exxon/Mobil Refinery in Baton Rouge and under normal river conditions you would see about ten to fifteen feet of freeboard below the deck of the refinery's dock . It is still amazing to me that the river still remains this high and for so long well after the two major spillways have been opened and not to mention the three breaches in the levee system below Cairo , Ill. Ha ! Hard to imagine that all this water literally fell out of the sky !!
Smooth Sailing !

I was looking at that third picture and my thought process went like this. "Well, that's Baton Rouge looking south, where's Exxo...holy...that IS Exxon. Glad I quit towboats when I did. 😀
Yeah , Thats Exxon !
Brian ,
Yeah , thats Exxon ! In thirty-one years of moving ships both in and out of the Exxon/Mobil Refinery , this is only the second time that I have witnessed the river in Baton Rouge , to meet this high water river stage ! This is definately one for the record book !
Thanks for your post and interest !
Smooth Sailing !
