So I'm trying to find out the current status of the Lt Robert E. Lee. The newest newspaper article I can find on it is from 2005, which has it listed as being in Kimmswick, MO. However, the 2007 Google maps don't show it. I think however it may have been moved back to St. Louis. This is a current satellite view of the waterfront next to the casino in STL:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=100+South+Leonor+K.+Sullivan+Boulevard,+St.+Louis,+MO&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=37.273371,59.765625&ie=UTF8&ll=38.62211,-90.183755&spn=0.001123,0.001824&t=h&z=19&om=1

That boat should be the right size to be the Lee, and it's at the old address. However, it looks completely vacant.

Does anyone know if it's once again closed and dormant?

A recent posting of mine should help answer some questions regarding the location of the Lt. Robert E Lee. The boat is still docked just downriver from the Poplar Street Bridge. In this posting, there is a webcam photo that shows where the boat is.

You are right, the available news articles are few and far between. For some reason, stltoday.com seems to remove recent articles too fast, while leaving old articles, from 2005 for instance, out there just to confuse.

That is not a 2007 Sat view. It is about 5 years old. The boat in your view IS The Lt.REL before it was moved and just after the casino boat was moved to above the MLK bridge. The grass area between the Arch steps was replaced with steps several years ago. As stated the Lt.REL is not on the riverfront now.

Thanks man, I was going by the date it gives on the sites. So it's still in Kimmswick. Maybe I'll try looking for them on a phonebook entry or something.

No Drew, the Lt. R E Lee is not in Kimmswick. As Darin said, She is in a holding dock below the I-55, I-70, I-64 bridge. Check his posting.
