There is just one wish for Christmas this year: We want to hear the following toast again, sitting at our table at the Captain's Dinner on the Delta Queen, somewhere on the Mississippi or Ohio River:
"Here's to y'all - our sentiments are real. May your days be as bright and your heart be as light as the spray from an ol' paddlewheel."

Merry Christmas
May we all be happy and warm with family and loved ones friends and all. The old riverboats are the perfect setting for a Christmas scene. A big red paddlewheel pushung a white boat against evergreens decorated by God.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years from up here in the cold reaches of Lake George, NY. 2011 looks to be promising with the main opposers of the DQ finally out of office, but we've got to keep fighting until the war has been won. It's been won before, and we'll do it again! Just remember that in the meantime, there are still steamboats out there that need your love and support also. Support Steam and Save The Delta Queen! A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all here on the message boards! With in the next few months we will thaw out from our winter period and steamboating will come back to our Lakes and Rivers. As it does I hope the coming year brings many gifts as we celebrate the 200th year of Inland River Steamboating. My best wishes to you all for the most blessed Christmas and many great happy surprises in the New Year to come!

May everyone here be blessed with a very merry Christmas and a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year. My fervent wish is that soon there will be overnight steamboat service on the Mississippi River System, and the DELTA QUEEN's whistle once again echoes off the forrested hills of the Ohio River Valley.

Here's a barge load of best wishes for a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to ALL who follow the call of the river and the boats that ply it. I treasure the friendships of all my "River Family", many of whom I've known for four decades! And a whistle salute and my special thanks to those who support the Howard Steamboat Museum, which you know is near and dear to my heart. Looking forward to seeing y'all in 2011, when we celebrate the STEAMBOAT BICENTENNIAL year! And THANKS, Franz and Carmen for your generosity in providing this unique forum!

With a new CG Commandant and possible forthcoming changes within the Flag Ranks and hopefully a bit of fresh air in Congress it would be a grand way to remember 2011!

Merry Christmas from a very snowy UMR! Remember we've still got two excursion steamboats operating on the Ohio and Mississippi, and for that I'm very grateful.
1) The NATCHEZ' gangplank is awaiting your footsteps so...
