Former DQ Chief Looking?
There's a rumor floating around that a former DQ Chief is in the job market, and if anyone knows who that is, please inform him / her there's one, and soon to be two, Chief Engineers positions begging. Also, looking for a Bridge Mate.... all candidates must have current, valid, USCG credentials (licenses).
Shipyard did post the link to be used by Internal Applicants.

My apologies. Sharp eye, there, Cap'n Lexie... just seeing if anyone was reading the posting. 😉
And now when I do the search, it only lists the engineer position. So have you hired a mate? Just curious. I really wanted to know the pay and perks but they didn't list that. Hm. I'd think that would be a pretty important thing to know. And why on earth does a mate have to have a gaming license? Sounds about as useful as the radar endorsement. Typical bureaucratic schlock. I've installed murals in working casinos, and they didn't care if I had 3 eyes as long as I got the job done. Oh, well. What do I know?
Eyes Upon You ...
I have a call into the web person concerning the one posting, but Monday is their day off.
We have a Mate's slot open for a current AGT license issued but the Coasties. Anyone working on board the vessel where the casino is located must be able to obtain a "gaming license". There are varying levels depending upon the responsibilities of the position. A Level 3, as needed by our candidates is a utility or general service level badge. Everyone is investigated before a permanent license is awarded, and the badge can be pulled if an unfavorable, checkered past is disclosed, such as for a conviction for a felony arrest.
Gambling boat personnel live under constant surveillance, but after 18 years, it is just a way of life aboard a casino boat that I don't seem to notice. I'm sure as a vendor, "they didn't care if (you) had 3 eyes", but I'm convinced there were at least one pair of other eyes watching your every move from behind one of those black globes on the overhead above where you were installing your mural.
Now you know ....
I thought we had to be squeaky clean to get a Coast Guard license. Or maybe that was the license to carry a concealed weapon. Squeaky, squeaky clean. Anyhoo, whoever was watching me was getting bored to tears. In one case, the mural was on the ceiling, but I don't remember getting up close and personal with a globe. I was more concerned with the number of feet up in the air I was on this rather shaky platform on wheels. I don't really care about the presence of cameras as they are a useful tool in catching someone who is, indeed, doing something wrong. And then it makes good entertainment when the footage ends up on a tv show.
