Hello everyone!! I'm no longer a "lurker" but am now a member and so excited to be a part of this forum. I have a question. I am a huge fan of the MQ, and was wondering if anyone has any info on her return, as well as maybe what she will be looking like upon her return? I'm sure my twin brother Kevin who is also on this site will be "thrilled" that I chimed in on my feelings about the MQ 🙂 Thanks so much!

Christopher,

According to the deck plans in the 2008 brochure the Texas Deck will be more or less completely remodeled. All insides are gone. Those in the bow area (forward the elevators) will be combined with the outside cabins. As for the outside cabins aft of the elevators two of them will be combined to one (then a suite). All insides in that area will be gone. I assume that´s where the announced spa/fitness area will be. It´s just a white blank spot on the deck plan right now. The other decks do not show any changes. If Majestic is keeping the color scheme I´m sure the MQ will get the blue/marroon colors too.

They didn't repaint the Delta Queen those colors, I figured they would only do it to the American Queen becuase of her name.

The red, white, and blue wouldn't fit in with the MQ.

Carmen, can you tell us where the boat is currently located.

Christopher and Nick,

I assume the MQ is still located at Perry Street. The webcam doesn´t really show a very sharp picture but it seems she´s still there

I couldn´t see any action when we´ve been in NOLA in April. But as most of the work is done inside you won´t see anything from the outside. And I don´t think the paint job will be done first.

The DQ is the only boat which didn´t get the new color scheme. The Empress of the North, the Queen of the West and the Columbia Queen were repainted like the American Queen. I haven´t seen any pics of the Contessa recently. So I can´t say anything about this little ship.

I didn't know those other boats had been painted the same colors as well. The MQ probably will receive the same paint job.

I just hope that Majestic America Line keeps the nameboard on the MQ's pilothouse, even if the company paints it a different color.

Check that link to see what I am talking about. It is to the MQ, what the eagle is to the DQ in my eyes.

Look forward to seeing the new updated Mississippi Queen. 🙂

In looking at the revised MQ floor plans in the new 2008 brochure I find it interesting that what we were told in March was going to happen to the MQ and in reality what IS going to happen to the MQ are radically different. The changes to the MQ appear to be a whole bunch simpler...

I guess I need to apologize for my March post...very, very misinformed...but there is a part of me that is glad that stateroom 402 will survive.

Bruno,

I think removing the added cabins on the observation deck was only a rumor and never planned. So was the amount to be spent on the renovations.
