*Ted's photos/Copyright issues*
Hi, Shipyard & steamboating colleagues:
Thanks to Shipyard for the 'heads up' on Ted Davisson's web with photos. I've already clicked to peruse. Missed Ted on these chat threads and wondered why. Good Ted had mentioned his photo copyright (C). Unfortunately, there's no such thing as 'International Copyright.' Having any photo or written text so marked a good idea. We can copyright whatever we write or photograph as long as it's registerd in the realm of the creative process. If not, then all is fair game outside the realm of 'innocent infringement.' Legal fair and square.

One has to consult the 'Bern Convention' of 3/1/'89 to see what few nations adhere to any universal copyright; even then a slippery road to walk. It can cause a lot of problems for libraries, photo depositories, universities, businesses and museums. The logo (C) a good idea--along with applying and paying for the rights. The late Alan Bates wrote/said much about it. Most of the time 'universal copyright' merely a scare tactic. Well, what do I know?
