The name of my book is "The Steamer Admiral and Streckfus Steamers, a Personal View." If you have ever ridden the Steamer Admiral or just wanted to, I think you will like this book. It contains a memoir based on eighteen summers worked on the boat. There is also a history of the boat itself and of the family company that ran her. The Streckfus Company is historic not only because of its ownership of the all steel art deco Admiral but also because of the boats they ran on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers beginning in the late 1800s. The history was researched from the Streckfus papers housed at the Mercantile Library at the University of Missouri - St. Louis where I am also a volunteer. The book is available at Howard Museum, and local independent bookstores (St. Louis) and on Amazon.com.
