Not sure what's up
I was told about the problems last night. I had heard that it ran aground. I'm not sure on what is the real story, but it doesn't seem that they will be in New Orleans on Thanksgiving.
It may very well be that they ran aground. Hope there was no damage if that is the case. I have not checked the river stage in the last week, but about a week ago, it was supposed to go to more than minus 2 ft at St. Louis. Several dredges working between Cairo and St. Louis, and the stretch from St. Louis down to around Crystal City was the worst I saw. We have been loading 8'6" drafts to go out of there....I have seen some 10 ft. stuff at -0.5 STLG.

Any news as to where the MQ might be today? Both boats were supposed to be in New Madrid this morning - sure hope they are.
I heard she struck a submerged object at Alton and put a gash in her hull?

Hi Pat,
We are in New Madrid, rafted up next to the DQ. We will be in St Francisville on Thanksgiving as originally scheduled. [edit - OOPS, I meant Baton Rouge)
There was some work done on the boat. The USCG said, "Okie dokie. You're good." and we are on our way.

Thanks for the update, Paul - look forward to seeing ya all along the river soon! It's always fun when the sister boats are traveling together, or are at least in the same vicinity.
On the BOL Derby Race trip in April, we were passing somewhere along the river - big wind, rain, whitecaps, etc. but we were all out there snapping the cameras like crazy, like we'd never done that before 🙂
