the MQ is locking through Lock & Dam 15 today, so check the webcam

Live from the Levee Report: Judy just called my office from the Muscatine Bike Path where she found the MQ nosed into the bank. Due to lock delays the MQ will most likely go through L&D #15 between 6:00 and 6:30 PM.

Back from the levee: the MQ was making great time but then ran into 2 doubles at Muscatine(figuratively), so she nosed in for a while. She locked through between them, leaving at 2 PM. This will put her up here about 6 for the webcam, although there is a strong west wind, which is a tailwind on this 25 mile stretch, so she might be a bit early. While the ocean breezes on the Pacific were nice last week, there's nothing like a river breeze and a steamboat in the picture! Finley Fraser, one of my partners in crime in devouring many a Mike Anderson's seafood platter between trips on the NATCHEZ, was pilot this watch. He'll be leaving the MQ in St. Paul to go bring the NATCHEZ up to Tall Stacks, so I guess we'll have to switch to Skyline Chili 5 ways or something while we're over there working on the NATCHEZ !!!

Thanks for the info. I love watching the MQ go through L&D 15. I will try to get a screen of her. 🙂
