So how was it? Is the DQ the magical boat we on this forum tried to paint her as? Or did you and your significant look at each other and say "Bruno has lost his mind..." You know, there are some that would could agree with you there...
I'm really interested in first hand knowledge of the first time experience. Did you have the last night sneak up on you and you said "where the hell did it all go?" And did you sit with a new MAL brochure in your lap in your cabin or on deck and discuss when you are taking your next cruise? Did you get angry that there is no PSSOA and you missed out on that? Was it the third or fourth night that you started skipping the salad and soup at dinner?
Or did you count the hours until you could finally get off that old boat, that boat with that soot problem, the one that shakes the bed, the bed in the cabins for contortionists.
Do tell...
Ten days until I get to enjoy the Riverboat Rhythm again, drink Sam Adams until it flows out my ears, and pig out on my favorite place in the world to eat breakfast...And two, count 'em, TWO new tiny, twisty rivers. With my buddies the Rhynders and the Deweys. Wowziers!
Good Morning From Nashville, Tn....We are taking a extra week, driving to some of the places DQ wouldn't stop by...Like the Casino's on the river...some wonderful restarants, and crisscrossing some of the beutiful bridges...Were now in Nashiville a few days before going back to Memphis.
Now for my mini cruise report....I absolutly loved the river, and everything I leared about her..I loved the DQ herself...Our room was on the Sun Deck 323..I highly recomend booking this Cat D room overall any of the Sun Deck Rooms..Small but plenty of walking around room, in the cabin..About 3 feet of space between the 2 very comfortable beds. A large bathroom to the side of the room. Bathroom sink apart from the bathroom, in the room. A large 6 drawer chest, and a small one between the beds...No closet but 2 places to hang clothes. The cabin is mid boat, between the 2 stairways...and far enough away from the Caliapi (sp)...The room was quiet, and the digital air vent worked very well...Never to cold or warm in this room.
Our room steward was good and friendly. And did his job..but honestly nothing more...I did have to ask him for more shampoo ect. He did bring it, but told me after the first day...its by request only.
Food on the boat was good...not excelent..Service was good but think the big ships do a better job..
I will continue this later...for some reason..it did not post the rest of my report...
