Anyone know the current status of post-Katrina Pilottown? Did they ever rebuild, or are they still rebuilding, or is it completely abandoned and everything still headquartered at Venice Louisiana?

I don't honestly know, but I suspect they haven't rebuilt. There was quite a squabble over allowing the Bar Pilots to board at Venice, some 20? miles upriver from Pilottown, but they eventually won out. So I doubt if they would be in a hurry to rebuild, and considering the difficulty in getting construction done in Louisiana, I doubt if it was a priority. Of course, they'd have the $$$$ to get it done. I think the fight over Venice was that the Crescent Pilots were afraid that they were going to lose 20 miles of their territory and hence some substantial income, but the verdict was that while the Bar Pilots can board at Venice and ride down, the Crescent Pilots are in charge and get the fees.
