According to the published schedule. the Queen of the West should have started up a couple of weeks ago. Did it happen?

In answer to my own question. The Queen of the West is indeed operating.
My former boss on the Empress of the North, Bo Ayers, steps on and does a duo with another guy in the lounge. I assume it's a step on situation as I have no indication that they feature any onboard, resident entertainment.
American West did that almost exclusively on both the Queen of the West and the Empress of the North. Usually, those of us who lived aboard would only be used sparingly or if someone did not show up.
That got expensive too. Those acts made a lot more than we did plus the company had to get them to and from the boat for their one night appearances, even when we were in Alaska. Could never figure that one out. They were great, mind you. And nice folks too. But the $$$. Wow.
The next season, former DQ executives were in charge (pre-MAL) and adopted the DQ model of on board entertainment, changing the character of the entertainment department, although they used almost all the entertainers who were there already.
