I went down to the foot of 18 Avenue at 4:30 this morning, and there was the QoM passing by. Couldn't have timed it any better. She currently (5:35AM) is treading water between the RI and Davenport levees, awaiting the lock. The second cut of a double has just gone in, but she'll get through the bridge before the voluntary 6:30AM-8 closure for Arsenal traffic. She should get over to the Oneida St. landing by 7. Unfortunately my tee time is 7:07, so I'll miss her inaugural stop in Davenport. It is good to see an overnight boat up here again. Two weeks from now the AQ makes her first pass through and will be up here for 8 weeks...
She is visible the Quad Cities web can right now. She's ready to go under the Government Bridge. LD 15 Cam-2 | U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island, Illinois
Oops, that should be web CAM. Guess I got too excited when typing. . .or maybe I just need another cup of coffee. We'll head to the landing shortly with our welcome signs. Our beach is decorated and ready for Queen watching later today.
