Hi fellow steamfloaters.
As I'm sure you know, we do get questions every day from passengers. Very often, the questions make perfect sense from a passenger perspective and we understand that, but there are times when we do get a chuckle or two.
Until recently, my favorite has always been,
"Does the crew sleep on board?"
But I think there's a new entry on the leader board.
Last cruise, we had two Catholic priests aboard as passengers. Now, priests say Mass every day and we provided them with the facility to do so during their cruise. They invited all who cared to attend to join them.
The Fathers had a marvelous time and spent a lot of their days relaxing and visiting with fellow passengers.
Toward the end of the cruise, I overheard a lady ask Phil the following question,
"Are your priests real?"
Paul
Hi, Paul:
Great posting on 'Questions.' We all got on a roll a year or so ago on Steamboats.org with posters offering questions they'd been asked or had heard aboard the boats. I'm sure Judy, Keith, Don, Jane, Doc, etc. could relate others they've heard in their time on the cruise and excursion boats. Here's a few I heard just as a passenger [*Hate to repeat in this posting].
1. "How do they paint the bottom of the boat if it's in the water all the time?"
2. "Will the boat ever come back this way again?"
3. "Do the crew members on this boat have homes?"
4. "Is there enough food on board until we get to the end of the trip?"
Cheers,
R. Dale Flick
