Greetings From New Orleans ,
Rumor has it that both the Str. Delta Queen and the Str. American Queen will both be laid up for the remainder of the 08" scheduled season this coming October . Also , rumor has it that there is a legitimate and serious prospective buyer for all three steamers for only a paltry 33 milion and who plans to renovate and operate all three boats if the DQ gets another exemption . At this point and time its only rumor but I have this from a fairly reliable source and time will tell .

Paltry or not...that is the best news I have heard in in the last 4 weeks. Renovations? Don't be scared Bruno, blue paint ain't that hard to cover! The MQ on the other hand....great news for her!

Don't get me wrong, this rumor is the best thing I've heard in a long time...But my mind envisions people losing their heads when they buy something and immediately want to renovate it before living with it. Witness the royal blue, the maroon paddlewheel and the eagle that took flight, to name a few. And yes, they were minor to the big picture, but the MQ interior demolition debacle was not minor...
Ted, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that "Renovations" equates to Spiffing up for two of the boats and Interior rebuild for the other one. Thanks a bunch for passing this on. Even if it is a rumor, I'll take it.
Geez, I hear renovations and my mind goes all kinds of crazy directions...but three boats rockin/rollin' again, just too cool....
