Just a little update on the fire situation here in Colorado. We had a little conflagration a few miles from Leadville in a remote forest area, but for a while it looked bad. Said fire is believed to have been started by sparks from the diesel locomotive of the local tourist train. Because of the fast growing fire, the train could not return to the station and had to go some distance beyond its usual tour route in order to evacuate the passengers. Most of this tour is on a steep hillside with no means of escape unless one is a well-equipped mountaineer or a goat. And a great time was had by all.8422.jpg8423.jpg

Yesterday afternoon downtown Dillon had a 20 min, deluge. I was there to see it. We had forgotten when rain looked like. A woman was out in it spinning around with her hands outstretched toward heaven as if she knew who was responsible for it.

In Summit Cove where we live some two miles town the highway there was nary a drop.

Are they still boating on Dillon Lake? I hear it's really low, so I'm kind of glad I didn't pursue or get a job with the water taxi.

Boating as usual.

Lake Dillon doesn't look that low to me. I drive over the dam road every day and down the hwy to keystone too. Looks pretty full, they have managed it well. Nothing like the 2002 drought.

Come on up! or down 🙂

The air is a bit cleaner anyway.

Ah, yes. There is probably always a breeze, often a tricky breeze. We might go over and rent a sailboat some day.
