An invitation to all...The infamous RRR's invite you all to two cruises, back to back, on the Illinois and the Upper Mississippi.

On June 13th, join us for a Three day, Two night cruise on the Spirit of Peoria to Starved Rock State Park, including a horse drawn canal boat excursion...

And then, join us on June 16th for a two night Twilight cruise on the Upper Mississippi, a mere 1 and half hour drive from Peoria and the very next day after the Spirit cruise...notice how nice this all blends in...

So, We're talking Five, count 'em five days on the brown water, we're talking eagles, we're talking great conversation, we're talking PSSOA comradery at it's utter finest! How can you pass this up? And yes you all can buy me a beer. And Damn, thank Judy for getting this rockin' and rollin'...

But you have to call in your reservation yourselves, and there is no discount this year for our wondrous group, the RRR's... But I gotta say, Deb and I WANT YOU TO BE THERE, please don't disappoint us...the price is SO right, and the time of year is perfect.

And what other choices do we brown water nuts have?

E-mail me if you have [email protected] , we will have a ball! The past two years have been a blast!

TWILIGHT trip

Glad you got the back to back trips arranged, that will be neat. I'm booked on the TWILIGHT with the RRR and MOR for August 14-15. Be careful when booking the TWILIGHT that you get the right RRR dates! The August trip is being booked as a group though, so there shouldn't be any problem. As to me joining the June group, maybe the TWILIGHT but not the SPIRIT. As I've posted many a time on here about the nonstop entertainment ,there is no escaping the SoP entertainment even though the Captain has some speakers unplugged so there is a quiet place to watch the river, because 'the' entertainer comes around and plugs them back in before his next Liarian session. Sorry, but no one person is bigger than the boat, the crew or the passengers. For those passengers who enjoy this entertainment, fine. But for those of us who would rather sit and watch the river without bombastic tales spewing from the pa system, it just isn't worth the aggravation again. The trip up to Starved Rock will be even prettier than the Illinois to Grafton, and you'll go by the spot where Life on the Mississippi was filmed in 1984.

Good news. A couple other river rats just signed on today for the June trip on the SPIRIT and TWILIGHT back to back. Couldn't make a deal with the TWILIGHT folks, but if, when you call the SPIRIT folks, you tell them you are part of the Ramblin' River Rats you will get a discount. And for those couple of couples that are already booked, your discount is being taken care of.

Judy, Deb and I would like to see you...You started this, I'm thinking that huge hugs are necessary, without you we'd never know that the Spirit or the Twilight existed...

And these New York neophites looking/having orgasms over the Upper Miss, can you imagine that Deb and Bruno have NEVER seen the Upper Miss?...

It's gonna be a ball...

And we can't wait...join us...

I wish I could join you all, however my 2011 vacation time is set in stone already...

The Upper Illinois is a very beautiful part of our river system, and is very near & dear to me for numerous reasons...

June should be a great time for the visit!

Travel time and money

Even if I don't end up riding the TWILIGHT in June, I'm sure I'll be up there to watch the group sail off into the beautiful UMR waters. Since I just came back from Oregon and Glendale Arizona and the BCS National Champion$hip game, and since we are booked for the Oregon/LSU game at Jerry Jones' playhouse in Dallas Sept. 3, my finances are rather thin. The two driving trips over to the Howard, one TWILIGHT cruise, and a few days in NOLA are it for me this summer. I've never been associated with a top-ranked college team before, so I'm enjoying the Ducks games while we're flying high, and these big venues are costly - almost as much as a steamboat trip!

C-U on the River!

Finances and not having a dog sitter in Illinois will also prevent us from either trip. However time is not a concern as we plan to be at the river house on the UMR when you are traveling on it. Bruno and Jo Ann, check your e-mail for info on where our house is located.

C-U on the river!
