Ambassadors International Inc. has just announced that they're selling the QUEEN OF THE WEST to an affiliate of American Cruise Lines. See the details about the Queen of the West sale in the Ambassador's press release.

Thank you for sharing the news with us. As one who has followed American Cruise Lines, I wonder if the steamboats wouldn't be a good fit for their family. This is just my opinion, as I don't know anything about the future of the steamboats.

There is some speculation that American Cruise Line might bring her over to the Mississippi River system to operate. American Cruise Line has not denied or confirmed it either. It certainly would make sense. Right now there is no competition on the Western Rivers where there is competition out in the Pacific Northwest.
