On Tuesday, May 24th, Buckhead Mountain Grill, at 707 Riverside Drive in Jeffersonville, will sponsor HOWARD STEAMBOAT MUSEUM DAY. The restaurant will donate 20% of all lunch and dinner checks to the museum when you present a copy of the attached flyer to your server.

Museum board members, staff, volunteers and friends are planning to "gather by the river" on May 24th, to celebrate (and catch our breath) after the completion of our 19th annual Chautauqua the prior weekend. So, come on down to the waterfront for good food and fellowship!

Hope to see y'all there -- and THANKS for your support of the museum!

A similar event was helf last fall at Rocky's I beleive and a great time was had by all! I encourage everyone int he area to stop by and have a meal with some good company. Even better part is, some of your check will go to the preservation of steamboat history!

If it was a couple of days later, I'd make the drive from St. Paul. Need to go to Indianapolis anyway, so what's another few hour detour? I'm covering the Minnesota Lynx and Indiana Fever WNBA basketball game on the 24th. Will someone please go and have a meal for me?

They may not have a calliope there, but I think I can come to terms with that, especially for a good cause. That does all depend, though, if I'm working that day or not 🙂

I'm sure there will be many opportunities for steamboatin' fun and fellowship this summer. We can even do carry-out or pot-luck and have some alfresco "Hot Stove Navigation League" sessions at the picnic tables on the museum grounds. Hopefully, it will have stopped raining by then!
