Will these events be held in air conditioning???
Crews are working feverishly installing the new geothermal system. As of now they are working on the north side of the mansion and I would estimate on that side it is 3/4 complete. As soon as that is finished they will install the system on the south side. So hopefully by the time the hot, humid weather hits the Ohio Valley, the Howard Steamboat Museum will be nice and cool.
Also a crew is busy repairing and rebuilding all the windows in the mansion. Being an historic site the windows have to be rebuilt rather than replaced.
Across the street progress is being made on the exhibit building. The foundation is poured and they should pour the floor sometime next week. With good weather maybe by Steamboat Ramblings enough will be completed for tours of the new facility.
Needless to say the museum is a virtual beehive of activity.
The Chautauqua and River Ramblings will be cooled by God's free air!
That really sounds just like something my grandmother would have said!
