A fun visitor at the Howard Steamboat Museum this morning was Sheila Nichols, who came to see me regarding the two hour documentary she has been working on for some time about the life of John Hartford. Some of you will remember Sheila as being part of the former "Big Muddy String Band" -which also included Capt. Bill and Becky Ray - entertaining for many events here at the HSM.
A fundraiser for the documentary will be held at 7:00 PM on FRIDAY, MARCH 22nd at the GLENMARY COUNTRY CLUB, 10200 GLENMARY FARM DRIVE in LOUISVILLE, KY.
A donation of $15 per person at the door is requested. Dining (full menu and bar) will be available at extra cost.
This event will be MC'd by Berk Bryant of the Country Gentlemen. Colin O'Brien will play fiddle/banjo and dance to John Hartford tunes.
Stories about John will be told during dinner by those who wish to share them.
Any musicians who want to bring their instruments and join in a jam session following the concert are invited to participate.
SEATING IS LIMITED TO 60 GUESTS. IF YOU WISH TO ATTEND: Call Sheila Nichols at 502-417-0133 to R.S.V.P.
