One of Arabia Steamboat discoverers killed

I am so sorry to learn of this tragedy and extend my sympathy to the Hawley family. I had talked with Greg on the phone several times in recent years. Such a nice guy and he was so enthusiastic about steamboat museums and educating the public regarding our river heritage. He kindly sent me a pass for the Arabia Steamboat Museum which, sad to say, I have yet to use. He certainly leaves a legacy of preserving Missouri River steamboat history.

I had the priviledge of meeting Greg when he gave a presentation here in Waco. I'm really sorry to hear of his death at the hands of a careless driver.
