The Marietta Times reports today that only the hull, framing and sternwheel remain from the BECKY THATCHER. The high water has delayed completion of the project.

The title of this article was later revised to read that the wheel and hull remain in the river and have not been "salvaged". If the location of the landfill where the remains have been taken is known, it might be possible to "obtain" some artifacts such as transom windows, doors, etc. They weren't fancy ones, but there were arches in the cabin. Steamboat looters can always find SOMETHING of interest to cart home!
