Ok, Omniscient .Orgers - there has rarely been a question posed that didn't get answered on this board, so I'm confident you'll be able to identify these photos. The recent stretch of frigid weather kept me confined to my steamboat room, where I finally decided to file my 8x10s into one collection. Other than uncovering a ridiculous amount of duplicates/triplicates, I also have some unidentified photos. Here are the cabins of five different packet boats, none of which I know. Help!
The first two pix are obviously of the same boat...2903.jpg2904.jpg2905.jpg

In my humble opinion the middle photo of the first set is the City of Natchez, built by Howards. I have a photo which is just slightly different. I think the dark table cloths is the main clue

Hmm... I'll have to check in my newly-filed photos to see if I have any others of the CITY OF NATCHEZ too. Thanks for the more than likely correct id.

RE: 'Steamboat Interiors.'
Hi, Judy, Bill & steamboating colleagues:
Okay, I'll bite the bait. Don't know the 'exact' names of the three boat cabins but would bet a donut that the interiors are from the famed ANCHOR LINE boats. View from the gentleman's cabin and then looking the other way on picture one and two. ANCHOR LINE had those distinct cabin chairs and a way of arranging/stacking chairs and draping the tables with cloths like no other line between meal hours. The steward jackets barely seen would nail it the AL for me. Well...? It's late and I'm too lazy to pull out corresponding photos to double check.

In the next 'thread' of photos I'd guess the one on the left is the ROBT. E. LEE [Don't ask which one]. Not sure of the center photo. One on the right is of the J.M. WHITE. Er...um...ah...well?

J. M. White

I don’t have a clue on most of the photos but they are all fantastic shots. Thanks for posting them. The only one that I had a guess about was the same one that Dale suggests is the J. M. White. The detail of the elaborate carvings and moldings look very much like photos that I have seen of the White’s cabin.

Well, no Snickers bar available, but how about a Planters Punch, Capt. Judd? I just found a photo in the Murphy collection identifying that cabin as the CITY OF NATCHEZ. Omniscience strikes again!

Thanks for the Planters Punch, I'll cash in my rain check next time in your town. By the way, I agree with Dale and Ted on the J.M.WHITE cabin. Also thanks for those sad photos of the PRESIDENT.

I have accurately reproduced the White's arches, so, yes, it's a no brainer. Not a clue on the others.

Is that Capt. Leathers' rocking chair in that first photo? If it is, then my guess is we're looking at the last sidewheeler NATCHEZ's cabin. Not the racer, but the one after her also built in Cincinnati.

Judy without a doubt the first two pics are the JM White.
