Hi all,
Although it has been published on Sep 28th already we obviously missed this
11 nice photos of our friends working on the Natchez.
Carmen
Very nice!! We were on the Natchez at Tall Stacks. I only wish we were allowed on the roof to see the calliope. Hearing it was one of my favorite aspects of the dinner cruise. I especially enjoyed the way it echoed when passing under the bridges.
Richard, come to New Orleans and ride again and specifically ask to be taken up to view the calliope. As I've answered several times to your lament, things were very hectic at TS and the liability is too great to allow someone up there unescorted. Our crew was stretched to the limits at TS, and most people have been able to accept this. I assure you you'll get your viewing if you come under regular circumstances. As to the pictures, that's Capt. Don Houghton in the pilothouse blowing the departure whistle. It was a nice article which ran just before Tall Stacks. Currently the NATCHEZ is in drydock, undergoing her 5 year hull inspection. Hopefully there won't be anything major found, as there is obviously no major extra money floating around!
