An article in Wednesday's Marietta Times brings the news that a judge has determined the rightful owner of the BECKY THATCHER (former Str. MISSISSIPPI) and that Jeffrey Levin, of Del Ray Beach, Florida now has the right to sell or keep the old steamboat.
The BECKY has been offered for sale on Ebay for MANY months and remains on the Internet auction site with a starting bid of $399,000 requested. Levin purchased the boat from the Ohio Showboat Drama group in 2004 for $60,000.
Seems rather ironic that the BECKY THATCHER and GOLDENROD SHOWBOAT, companions on the St. Louis waterfront for many years, are both making the news this week!
