The Farmington House, a museum at Louisville, is seeking information of any kind about the Steamer Lebanon, which was running in 1841. Farmington was the home of Joshua Speed, who went to St. Louis with Abraham Lincoln on that boat.
I have already searched Way's Directories, The Lytle-Holdcamper Lists, Baird's History of Clark County, Indiana, The History of New Albany and the Encyclopedia with no result.
If anyone has anything at all about this boat, please contact me.

Lebanon 1841

Alan,

Found that the Lebanon carried the mail to New Orleans in September of 1841 under contract with Strader, Thompson & Strader of Louisville. The year before she made several trips to New Orleans also carrying the mail. The vessel apparently was a sidewheeleer of 141 tons built in Brownsville in 1839.
Hope this helps.

The Farmington Museum and I thank those who responded. Every particle helps in research.
