My wife just re-discovered my copy of the Delta Queen Cookbook (somehow she forgot I had it??), and was reading it very carefully--Surprise! There are two photos in the book of Delta Queen dinnerware, taken by me! I had forgotten I had sent them in, and didn't see them when I read the book some time ago.
Neet-o! Had to share this with my Steamboatin' friends here. I feel privileged to be even slightly associated with the DQ and her history.
We all like to look at steamboat stuff.
Can we see it?
🙂
Some more stuff! Here's a plate that I don't think was issued by Greene Line, and two mugs from the last years (the purple one was given on board as a contest prize, and is rather uncommon, I'm told. The third one on top, is from the Delta King Hotel. The third image is a goblet with a "window" that lets you see the DQ on the other side of the glass.

That is some cool stuff! Thanks for sharing.
Ron, you're welcome. My collection is very small compared to some here, like JP!
When I finish the house, the collection will be a major part of the decor! That and all the clocks. . . . and maybe a few toy trains!
Steamcerely,

Greene Line plate
You've got some stuff I don't have, David! That plate was indeed issued by Greene Line. They sold it on the DQ. Back in the 60s when they stopped here on the Cincy/St. Paul round trip, they allowed locals to board and tour. My parents did that and bought the plate for $1. I believe I was at our high school football game, rather than on the boat that time. I hadn't been afflicted with the 'disease' yet!
*DQ plates, mugs, menu & cookbook*
Morning, David, Ron, Judy & Steamboating colleagues:
Again, my eyes bugged clicking open, reading RE: "The DELTA QUEEN Cookbook with plates, cups, mugs, menu." This really 'spooky' as yesterday I worked several hours sorting through books on my library shelves, cleaning up papers, photos to be scanned etc. And there was 'The DELTA QUEEN Cookbook' by Cynthia LeJeune Nobles, Louisiana State University Press. Well, I just hand to stop with dust cloth in hand to begin thumbing; then stopping to read in-depth many of the entries. That book well done with many posters here offeing memories, recipes, photos, ephemera.
Judy, those DQ and even GORDON C. GREENE plates and surviving bars of soap wrapped in GREENE LINE paper, playing cards, note cards etc. really bring now much, much more than $1 you paid back then. Lesson is grab it when you see it as it won't be there even twenty-four hours later. You know, "The one that got away." Cheers!
