According to http://www.cruisecritic.com/news/index.cfm - The Empress of the North will be out of service for three more weeks in addition to the original three weeks for extensive repairs. The Empress will go farther south for permanent repairs. Maybe to Vancouver, Seattle or even Portland.
A friend of mine has a brother who works in a shipyard in Portland. He's gone up to Ketchikan to take a look at the Empress. His yard had done work on the Empress previously, so they're familiar with the dry-docking layout (the way they lay out blocks to properly support the boat/ship when it is out of the water.) He could be there either to just prepare a bid on the job, or to actually get ready to do it.
Also the June 30th cruise has been cancelled. The Empress is expected to be back by July 7th.
