Huzzah! The U.S. Mail Boat dropped off the June REFLECTOR today at the Covington Landing, and it is fantastic! Well done, David! I'm not through reading it yet, but I'm not far from it.
Must be another contract negotiation between the Railroad and the Wiggins Ferry Company, or there was too much to read at the PO as our new Trains magazine arrived yesterday......must still be reading the Reflector at the PO!
Oh, my gosh! Is it June Reflector time already? Good grief. I'm going to the PO right now.
June Reflector
Yes, Lexie, it is time for the June Reflector. With David Tschiggfrie at the helm, we're back to receiving four issues a year, in the month in which they are designated! (if the USPS does its part)
Lo 'n Behold!, the Reflector was waiting between the front door & the storm door when I got home today. All stop to all non absolutely necessary activity as the contents are devoured. With any luck the porch swing will be dry enough to camp on until dark! Times a'wastin here at the mechanical keyboard, the Reflector is a'callin.
Jim,
Do you recognize any of the young ladies from the Cincinnati Office standing next to Colonel Sanders on the Great Steamboat Race review stand on page 2 of the REFLECTOR? Mary Ann Schnurr (Held) is the attractive blonde, and was with the Delta Queen Company on and off from the Betty Blake era into the late 90's.
The lady leaning on Col Sanders...could that be Joan Evans?...was she still with the Company in 1970? I recognize the dark haired lady next to Big Cap, can't call name. Just visible nose to hairline behind who I think is CCH is, ??? name however she worked on board and was at one time Franklin Miles secretary.
Although the editor and his wife arrived safely at Munich airport today the June Reflector didn´t made it so far... 🙁
We had a nice lunch together at the airport and then they picked up their rental car. They´ll be back on Friday.
Carmen
Thanks, Carmen, for the travel status report on Dave and Debbie. I know y'all will have a great time visiting!
Meanwhile, back at "the BIG house" on the river, we are enjoying yet another stellar issue of the S&D Reflector! Kudos to the editor!
It wasn't there on Sun. and we were out cutting firewood all day yesterday, so I will get to the PO today for sure.
